Mikel Arteta is set to sign a new four-year contract with Arsenal, Daily Arsenal understands.
BBC Sport reporter Sami Mokbel reported yesterday that a final agreement is in place between Arsenal and Arteta over a new long-term deal.
The 44-year-old Spaniard’s current terms were set to expire in the summer of 2027, but following several months of contract talks, an agreement has now been reached.

The length of Arteta’s new contract had remained unknown.
But now, Daily Arsenal can confirm the length of his new deal at the Emirates.
Mikel Arteta extends until summer of 2030

Daily Arsenal have been told that Arteta is set to put pen to paper on a new four-year contract, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2030.
Nothing has been officially signed yet, but that is expected to happen as early as this international break, with a verbal agreement between all parties now in place.

Arteta’s new contract could take him into his 10th year as Arsenal manager in north London.
His coaching staff are also expected to renew their deals.
The bigger picture
Arsenal’s recruitment team continues to focus on players who fit the club’s long-term strategy under Mikel Arteta. Technical quality, tactical intelligence and versatility remain key attributes as the club assesses potential additions ahead of the new campaign.
The club has consistently looked to add players capable of improving both the starting XI and overall squad depth, particularly with the demands of competing in the Premier League and Champions League. Arsenal are expected to strengthen multiple areas of the squad this summer and continue to monitor opportunities across Europe and South America.
Arsenal are expected to make several important decisions regarding the composition of the squad. While strengthening key areas remains a priority, the club could also consider offers for certain players if it helps fund new arrivals and maintain financial flexibility.
Securing the futures of key players remains just as important as making new signings. Arsenal have worked hard to build one of the strongest squads in Europe, and maintaining stability within the group will be crucial as the club looks to continue competing for major honours.
Our View
Tying down Mikel Arteta to a new long-term contract has been Arsenal’s biggest priority. Now it seems like there is only a matter of time before his new deal is announced.
This comes as a major boost for Arsenal and everyone connected to the club, as full focus now can shift to the current season and to what is happening on the pitch.
