BREAKING: Mikel Arteta confirms Declan Rice injury concern ahead of Brighton clash

Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Declan Rice will be assessed ahead of Wednesday’s clash with Brighton.

The Gunners restored their five-point lead at the top of the table with a crucial 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

Rice once again played a key role in Arsenal’s win but was forced off in the 76th minute. Christian Nørgaard replaced the England international.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Arteta provided an update on the midfielder’s condition:

“Declan asked to be substituted, so he will need to be assessed. We’ll have to see if he is available for Wednesday, unfortunately.”

Arsenal travel to the south coast to face Fabian Hürzeler’s Brighton on Wednesday night.
