Well, we all know Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus suffered a knee injury during the World Cup game against Cameroon. A few days ago there were initial reports in Brazil stating that Jesus would be out for 3-4 weeks. The injury was not thought to be serious.

But a recent report from Sportv in Brazil claimed recently that Jesus will need surgery on his right knee and is expected to be sidelined for at least three months. The information from Sportv also stated that the striker was going back to London in order to meet the Arsenal doctors.

Daily Mail have reported that the club could discover all details on Jesus' injury today. Now, it seems like the details of the injury have been confirmed. Both The Telegraph's Mike Mcgrath and the reliable Fabrizio Romano say Jesus will undergo knee surgery and could be out for a couple of months. Huge blow for the club and our title hopes...

Now it remains to be seen if Arsenal decide to act in the January transfer window. With Jesus out for a while, we only have Eddie Nketiah as a natural number nine. I think a lot of us think the club has to go out and sign a new striker. It has to be a top quality player who can make an instant impact, otherwise it's not worth it. If we really want to challenge for the title this season, we need more firepower as Arteta has claimed in the past.

Here I take a look at five strikers who Arsenal should and could target in January:

1. Victor Osimhen

A real goalscorer. Really dangerous in front of goal and he would definitely be a threat in the air, something we're lacking in the squad. A deal in January looks highly unlikely though, due to his price-tag. But if Arsenal wants to be a contender for the title, it could be worth spending money on this man.

2. Tammy Abraham

Like Osmihen, Abraham is a strong and tall striker. Would offer us something different. Reports in Italy claim AS Roma could sell Abraham in the near future. Arsenal understood to be interested. Far more likely the club could sign him in January than Osimhen.

3. Ivan Toney

Premier League experience, good age and a natural goalscorer. Great at penalties and free-kicks. Would be a fantastic signing in my opinion but not likely that Brentford would sell him in winter unless a huge bid is submitted.

4. Aleksandar Mitrovic

Doing really well for Fulham. Great in the box and a strong target man. Don't think Fulham would sell their star man in the middle of the season though, but would be a good replacement for Jesus according to me.

5. Cristiano Ronaldo

Still one of the best players in the world, despite his age. I think he would be a good stop-gap signing on a short-term deal but I would only want CR7 if the club can't get any other strikers in January.

Let's see what the club will do. The main priorities for this upcoming window were a winger and a central midfielder. With Jesus now injured, Edu and Arteta's transfer plans could change. Time will tell.
