Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Roberto Firmino's situation at Al Ahli.

With Arsenal facing an injury crisis in attack, there has been speculation about the club potentially turning to the free-agent market to add much-needed depth for the remainder of the season.

Although names such as Diego Costa, Carlos Vela, and Maxi Gómez have been mentioned over the past week, the club has seemingly decided not to pursue any of these available players.

Transfer insider Ben Jacobs recently stated that Al Ahli striker and former Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino could emerge as an option for the Gunners.

The 33-year-old is currently playing for Saudi side Al Ahli, but recent reports suggest his contract could be terminated imminently, as he has been left out of the Saudi Pro League squad and is only eligible to feature in the AFC Champions League.

According to RTI Esporte journalist Wilson Pimentel, Firmino is in discussions with Al Ahli to terminate his contract with immediate effect.

Both Arsenal and Brazilian side Flamengo are reportedly monitoring Firmino's situation. The player is said to favour a return to Europe, making Arsenal the frontrunners for his signature should he become a free agent.

As of now, no offer or formal inquiry has been made for the Brazilian forward, but Arsenal appear to be prepared to act swiftly if an agreement is reached.
