BREAKING: Arsenal Lack Funds to Sign Top Striker Target, Making Potential Summer Move “Extremely Unlikely”
Written by David Schill
Arsenal are reportedly unlikely to sign Newcastle's world-class striker Alexander Isak this summer.
The 25-year-old forward is believed to be Arsenal's top target ahead of the Summer transfer window.
Daily Arsenal has previously reported that Isak is the club's number one priority for strengthening the centre-forward position.
With Newcastle fighting for a Champions League spot this season, it is highly unlikely that the Swedish international would be allowed to leave the club mid-season.
The Magpies are reportedly demanding a staggering £115m for their star player, making a potential January move almost impossible.
Now, Newcastle journalist Craig Hope reports for The Daily Mail that Arsenal lack the financial resources necessary to sign Alexander Isak this summer.
It is believed that Arsenal are "extremely unlikely" to make a move for the striker, with the primary focus now on potential departures.
Arsenal are open to selling Gabriel Jesus should they receive a suitable offer this summer, while both Oleksandr Zinchenko and Thomas Partey are expected to leave.
Mikel Arteta is known to be a big admirer of Isak, and the player's representatives are understood to be aware of Arsenal's interest.
Unless Arsenal generate significant funds from player sales this summer, a potential bid for Alexander Isak is unlikely to materialize.
