Speaking exclusively to Daily Arsenal, Veronique Rabiot (mother & agent of Adrien Rabiot) tells us that Arsenal could be a possible destination for her son.
After five years at Italian giants Juventus, the French international midfielder is now without a club and available as a free agent in the market. This has put several top clubs around Europe on red alert.
Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport reported two days ago that Arsenal, along with Real Madrid & Atletico Madrid were leading the race for Rabiot’s signature. I can confirm that’s NOT true.
Rabiot’s mother-agent Veronique had a brief chat with Daily Arsenal and when asked about whether Arsenal are one of the clubs interested in her son, she said:
”There are many rumours about Adrien and many of those are false. But yes, Arsenal could be an option.”
Veronique made it clear though that there has been no contact as of now between her and the Gunners:
”I have not been contacted by Arsenal and therefore there are currently no discussions or negotiations ongoing.”
Rabiot’s mother & agent also confirms she is in talks with several clubs regarding Adrien’s future, but she doesn’t want to reveal which clubs. She makes it clear though that Arsenal are NOT of them at the moment.
Finally, she claims Rabiot would be keen on a move to Arsenal if the opportunity arose.
With Mikel Merino to Arsenal reportedly all but done, it seems unlikely Arsenal would sign another midfielder.
But I’m told nothing can be ruled out at this stage. Rabiot is available on a free, which makes him a very attractive option & could be a valuable market opportunity, something that Edu & Arteta are keeping a close eye on.
As things stand, there is nothing concrete between Rabiot and Arsenal. But it could be something to look out for in the final stages of the transfer window.
