The 26-year-old Argentine has been heavily linked with a potential move to the Emirates in recent months, with Mikel Arteta understood to be a strong admirer.

Now, a fresh update has emerged on Arsenal’s pursuit.
Alvarez move hinges on potential departures
According to BBC Sport, Arsenal’s interest in Álvarez is genuine.
However, it is believed that either Kai Havertz or summer signing Viktor Gyökeres would need to leave the Emirates for Arsenal to step up their pursuit of the Atlético Madrid striker.
Álvarez’s current contract with Diego Simeone’s side runs until the summer of 2030.
