Arsenal are reportedly still keen on signing Real Madrid defender Victor Valdepeñas this summer.
The 19-year-old Spaniard has been linked with a move away from the Santiago Bernabéu for some time, with Arsenal and AC Milan in particular credited with an interest.
Valdepeñas’ progress at the La Liga giants has not gone unnoticed, and a fresh update has now emerged regarding his future.
Arsenal and AC Milan set for summer battle
According to Diario AS, Arsenal remain interested in a potential summer deal for the defender.
Mikel Arteta’s side hold a long-term interest in the player and have continued to monitor him this season.
Serie A giants AC Milan are also expected to compete for Valdepeñas’ signature this summer, while several Bundesliga clubs are also following his situation.
Valdepeñas is believed to have a £43m release clause in his current Real Madrid contract, which runs until the summer of 2029.
