Arsenal open talks to sign £100m midfielder Sandro Tonali

Arsenal have reportedly opened talks with Newcastle United over a summer deal for Sandro Tonali.

The Italy international has been heavily linked with a move away from St James’ Park in recent months, with several European giants monitoring his situation closely.

Arsenal were previously interested in signing Tonali during the January transfer window, although no deal ultimately materialised.

Now, with the midfielder increasingly expected to leave Newcastle this summer, a fresh update has emerged regarding his future.

Talks between both clubs underway

According to Tuttomercatoweb journalist Marco Conterio, Arsenal have now opened talks over a potential move for Tonali.

It is understood that both clubs are currently discussing the structure and financial details of a possible deal.

Previous reports have claimed that Newcastle would demand a fee in the region of £100m to part ways with the midfielder this summer.

Alongside Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid are all believed to be interested in Tonali ahead of the transfer window.

The midfielder’s current contract runs until the summer of 2028.
